There Goes My Weekend

You know that I always try to keep my weekends sacred (something I learned from my parents) -- time to give your full attention to your family.

This weekend is one of those rare times that I have to sacrifice my weekend. I'm working overtime/double time to finish my tasks for our graduation and year-end party. Although I'm at home, still, I'm working.

Anyway, I'm taking a break now and decided to blog about a pleasant experience I had last weekend.

I went to a university to inquire about the requirements I need to take up a masteral course. So I went inside the office and asked for the requirements and, if possible, the schedule for the first semester of the next school year. The lady stared at me, clarified what I needed and asked some other questions that didn't quite make sense to me. Thinking, maybe she didn't understand me I repeated myself (in tagalog this time):

"Miss, hihingi po sana ako ng requirements para makapag masters ako"

And she replied:

"Ahhh, akala ko undergrad ka eh..."

Then she gave me the list.

That's all. (*wink*wink*)

Gotta go back to work and hopefully, I get to join my brothers and my husband in watching a movie tonight.

I'm a self-confessed TV addict. Despite the widespread of pirated TV series on DVD like House (Oh I LOVE House!), Grey's Anatomy (Love it too!), CSI (My first love in TV series), Lost (still waiting for the next season. calling on AXN!) etc., I still prefer catching each episode on the boob tube. Aside from the fact that I restrain myself from buying pirated copies, I enjoy looking forward to each and every episode every week. I get a certain rush from making sure that I am home to catch my favorite TV program. Until HEROES came into my life.

I have heard and read about Heroes since the beginning of the year. Everyone who's seen it, seemed to rave about it. Save the cheerleader, save the world. What's that?! I became interested. So, my friend Agnes, who excitedly gave me her (pirated) copy of episodes 1-9, just to satisfy my curiousity. I am soooo glad that she did! I can't get enough of it!

After my husband (whose geekiness was aroused by this series) and I did a marathon of all 9 episodes (Believe me, each episode will leave you anxiously anticipating what will happen next!), I immediately went out to get a copy of the rest of season 1 (episodes 10-12). Didn't care if it was pirated. Much to my disappointment, there was none available yet! Waaahhh! Bitin!

We searched and searched, but it wasn't really available in the market just yet. Desperate, I was already thinking of downloading the next episodes from the net. Who cares if I leave the computer running overnight?! But thank God (really. thank you God!), my hubby found out that his officemate is also a Heroes fan, who, religiously downloads each episode as soon as it's available on the net! Woohoo!!! We not only have the entire season 1, we also have season 2's episodes 1-5!

I SO wanted to do a marathon of all 5 episodes, but I am trying hard to resist the temptation, so I don't run out of episodes to watch and get bitin again. I make sure that I have 2 episodes in the can before watching one. We are to watch episode 3 of season 2, and waiting for our copy of episode 6, so we can move on to episode 4. Can't wait!

(I hear that they started showing in on Star World, but I have really seen it yet.)
